Wodne roztwory alkoholu poliwinylowego (PAV) (6–12%) o masach cząsteczkowych 40, 130 i 205 kDa poddano przędzeniu w celu określenia wpływu takich parametrów procesu jak masa cząsteczkowa polimeru, stężenie roztworu polimeru, napięcie elektroprzędzenia i szybkość przepływu polimeru na grubość i jakość otrzymanego nanowłókna oraz na efektywność (ciągłość) procesu przędzenia. Badaniom poddano także 10-proc. roztwory PAV zawierające 0,1, 0,2 lub 03% AgNO3 w celu otrzymania włókniny o potencjalnym działaniu bakteriobójczym wobec trzech różnych szczepów bakteryjnych: Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus oraz Acinetobacter baumannie. Najbardziej efektywne hamowanie rozwoju bakterii przez otrzymane materiały zaobserwowano w przypadku S. aureus i A. baumannii, które są znanymi patogenami z grupy „ESCAPE”, czyli takimi, które nie poddają się klasycznej antybiotykoterapii.

Aq. solns. of polyvinyl alc. (PAV) (6–12%) with mol. weights of 40, 130 and 205 kDa were electrospun to det. the effect of such process parameters as polymer mol. weight, polymer soln. concn., electrospinning voltage and polymer flow rate on the thickness and qual. of the obtained nanofibre and on the efficiency (continuity) of the electrospinning process. 10% PAV solns. contg. 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3% AgNO3 were also tested to obtain a nonwoven fabric with potential bactericidal activity against three different bacterial strains: Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Acinetobacter baumannie. The most effective inhibition of bacterial growth by the obtained materials was obsd. in the case of S. aureus and A. baumannii, which are known pathogens from the “ESCAPE” group, i.e. those that are not subject to classical antibiotic therapy.

Recent review of the general application of isoxazoles and isoxazolines has been done based on current state of the art in this area. Isoxazole and its analogues have majority of possible applications in many fields of plural branches of industry. They possess good biological activity, so most of them are being used successfully in medicine and veterinary. These heterocyclic compounds could be also very important precursors of many organic transformation. Due to their easy modification, general interest of their development still increases.

Wraz z rozwojem technologii i oprogramowania, złożoność środowisk, w których tworzone są aplikacje, znacząco wzrosła. Dawniej, gdy aplikacje były proste, a ich wymagania techniczne ograniczone, programiści nie mieli większych problemów z konfiguracją środowiska pracy. Obecnie jednak, w świecie zaawansowanego oprogramowania, problem kompatybilności bibliotek i wersji oprogramowania staje się powszechny. Problem ten stał się swego rodzaju codziennością, która nawet nie irytuje, ale zabiera bardzo dużo czasu i energii, która mogłaby być spożytkowana na tworzenie czegoś pożytecznego i rozwojowego.

Biobased hydrogels are three-dimensional polymeric matrices with a unique high water-holding capacity, which are mainly obtained from polysaccharides and proteins. Such a variety of natural polymer structures offers a range of hydrogel products with interesting physicochemical and biological properties. Nowadays, these matrices are already used in many industrial and environmental fields, which is considered extremely important. Moreover, the literature on the subject is constantly expanding, especially in areas of scientific research. The main purpose of this article is to briefly review the current development of matrices composition and properties of hydrogels of natural origin, considered as functional platforms in three application areas, primarily in biocatalysis, nutrition and medicine. The description of individual issues in the present article is supported by examples of case studies described in our previously published research papers, as well as considered in current projects of our research group.

W artykule scharakteryzowano górnojurajskie wapienie ze złóż w rejonie Działoszyna, udokumentowane dla potrzeb przemysłu cementowego, wapienniczego i do produkcji kamienia budowlanego. Przedstawiono najważniejsze parametry chemiczne oraz fizyczne i mechaniczne wapieni z eksploatowanych złóż oraz dane na temat wielkości wydobycia i dostępnych zasobów. Wśród kompleksów skalnych oksfordu, charakteryzujących się zróżnicowanym udziałem wapieni, wapieni marglistych i margli, szczególne znaczenie ma odmiana wapieni zalesiackich. Skały te poddane zostały szczegółowej charakterystyce w zakresie wykształcenia litologicznego, parametrów jakościowych oraz kierunków gospodarczego wykorzystania.

The paper presents the characteristics of the Jurassic limestones from deposits in the Działoszyn area, recognized as a rock minerals for the cement and lime industry and for the production of construction stone. The most important chemical, physical and mechanical parameters of limestone from exploited deposits as well as data on the mining output volume and available resources are presented. Among the Oxford rock complexes, comprises of limestones, marly limestones and marls that occurs in various proportions, the type of Zalesiaki limestones is of particular importance. These rocks were subjected to detailed analyses in terms of variability of lithological features, quality parameters and directions of economic use.

Syngas has a promising future as alternative to petroleum products and as a fuel for combustion engines. This study provides an overview on the feasibility of using syngas to power internal combustion engines. It presents technological process solutions for producing syngas toward minimizing the formation of tars as the most undesirable component for engine applications.. The combustion process characteristic of syngas composition has been tackled including critical criteria such as the flammability limit, ignition delay, laminar velocity, turbulent velocity, and the subsequent challenges in determining a numerical methods that best matches the experimental datas. The syngas usage as alternative resource, while tackling the uncertainty issue of its composition, for Compression Ignition (CI) and Spark Ignition (SI) with the emission and performance effectiveness has been studied as well. The results of the review showed that syngas can be a viable alternative for some stationary applications, such as advanced integrated systems (ICCG), but its application is, however, relatively limited, for example as a secondary fuel in engines (CI) for automotive applications. However, significant discrepancies between numerical (simulation) and experimental results have been noted. This suggests that there are many scientific and experimental challenges in the area of syngas combustion processes in internal combustion engines. However, given the potential of this group of fuels, especially in the face of the energy crisis, this research is highly desirable and has a significant application perspective.

W artykule omówiono przykładowe zastosowania pomp próżniowych w przemyśle spożywczym. Przedstawiono wymagania dotyczące próżni oraz ich spełnienie w przypadku różnych konstrukcji pomp próżniowych. Zwrócono uwagę na wymogi higieniczne dla urządzeń sprężających, w szczególności dotyczących czystości gazu. Przedstawiono wybrane zastosowania pomp: z wirującym pierścieniem cieczy, łopatkowej, spiralnej, śrubowej oraz z podwójnymi rotorami. Zestawiono wymogi, czyli założenia projektowe, które należy przedstawić przy projektowaniu instalacji próżniowej w zakładach przemysłu spożywczego. Ważnym elementem instalacji poza samymi pompami są urządzenia towarzyszące, a w szczególności filtry pyłowe, odolejacze i odemglacze. Pełnią one dwojaką rolę: z jednej strony zapewniają czystość gazu, a z drugiej zabezpieczają pompę przed uszkodzeniem. Przy projektowaniu należy uwzględnić spadek ciśnienia w pompach, czyli warto stosować urządzenia dobrej jakości.

The article presents examples of vacuum pump applications in the food industry. The various designs of vacuum pumps are compared with their characteristic data. Hygienic requirements for compression devices were highlighted, specifically with regards to gas purity. Selected applications of rotary liquid ring, vane, scroll, screw and double rotor pumps are presented. Design requirements to be met when designing a vacuum system in a food processing plant are summarised. An important element of the installation, apart from the pumps themselves, is the associated equipment, in particular dust filters, oil separators and de-emulsifiers. On the one hand, they ensure that the gas is clean, and on the other, they protect the pump from damage. When designing, it is important to take into account the pressure drop that occurs in these devices, therefore it is advisable to use good-quality devices.

The paper deals with the still unexplained issue of the choice of chord length, which will be the most benefi cial when determining the horizontal curvature of railway track with the use of the moving chord method. In the railway track – with an incorrect choice of the chord length – the horizontal track deformations and coordinate measurement error may cause irregular curvature diagrams, which will be difficult to interpret. The study analysed three test geometric layouts adapted to the speeds of 80 km/h, 120 km/h and 160 km/h (the radii of circular curves determined as a result of the curvature estimation performed were approximately 410 m, 880 m and 1480 m, respectively). The lengths of the moving chord in the range of 10÷50 m were considered. On the basis of the conducted analysis, it was unequivocally demonstrated that the chord length used to determine the curvature in the railway track should depend on the value of the radius of the circular curve. Approximate lengths lc were proposed depending on the range of the RCA radius. The adaptation of the moving chord method to the adopted measurement procedure presented in this paper and the way of using the obtained curvature diagram, provide the appropriate application basics.

The types of such bolometers, the principle of their operation and possible application perspectives in various branches of electronics, as well as nuclear physics, are discussed.

The article presents the possibilities of using popular MEMS inertial sensors in the object tilt angle estimation system and in the system for stabilizing the vertical position of the balancing robot. Two research models were built to conduct the experiment. The models use microcontroller development board of the STM32F3 series with the Cortex-M4 core, equipped with a three-axis accelerometer, magnetometer and gyroscope. To determine the accuracy of the angle estimation, comparative tests with a pulse encoder were performed.

Nano-thermites or metastable intermolecular composites (MICs) have been implemented into modern research on energetic materials as they offer much higher energy densities, higher rates of energy release, stability, and safety (lower sensitivity). This paper reviews several synthetic methods for MICs that have been well thought-out for energetic applications, advantages and disadvantages, as well as the characteristics of each manufacturing technique. The techniques presented include powder mixing, sol-gel, synthesis of MICs based on nano-porous silicon (Psi), sputtering, multilayer nano-foils and electrolytically plated carbon nano-materials for nano-thermite applications. These techniques offer enormously different characteristics and, through the variation of various chemical techniques and conditions, a wide range of chemical and energetic properties may be attained. This may give the opportunity for the safe use of MICs as replacements for some conventional energetic materials in various applications, and may also enable us to study the effects when incorporating these MICs into energetic matrixes, as a promising and feasible research field.

The need for remote control of a television is uniform, expressed mainly in the ability to change TV channels, TV settings or use the functions built into the TV set. Remote controls have changed over time to meet users' expectations. The latest technologies make it possible to customize remote controls and configure them according to the user's needs. For the average per-son not well familiar with technology and applications, choosing the right one for a particular brand of TV is not the easiest thing to do, as the amount available is overwhelming the Google offer. The aim of the study is to analyze, compare and identify the most functional application for controlling modern TV sets based on classic Smart TV and Android TV software. The analysis covers applications available on the Google platform, i.e. the Play Store.

Modern times are associated with a huge increase in the number of security breaches in transnational corporations.
