Skojarzenie tych okoliczności oraz dodanie nowej infrastruktury hydrotechnicznej poprzez zbudowanie sieci rurociągów wyposażonych w systemy pompowe zasilane energią elektryczną produkowaną w tych lokalnych małych elektrowniach wodnych zdaniem autorów artykułu może stanowić uzupełniający sposób w rozwiązywaniu problemów usuwania nadmiaru wody opadowej i roztopowej z powodziowych rozlewisk cieków śródlądowych.

Small rivers and inland waterways are important facilities in terms of energy and ecological security in Poland. The agricultural areas adjacent to these streams have mostly been equipped with drainage infrastructure for over 70 years. However, field observations from the last 20 or even 30 years confirm the facts that drainage facilities such as drainage ditches, underground drainage systems, or naturally created flooded lands are becoming increasingly ineffective in these areas year by year. Using the local situation of the former Small Hydroelectric Power (SHP) infrastructure, along with their renovation and revitalization, as well as the construction of new sources of electricity of this type, is one of the ways to enrich the resources of renewable sources for electricity production. The association of these circumstances and the addition of new hydrotechnical infrastructure by building a network of pipelines equipped with pumping systems powered by electricity produced in these local small hydro power stations, according to the authors of the article, may be a supplementary method in solving the problems of removing excess rainwater and meltwater from flooded areas of inland streams.

This paper presents the results of experimental research focused on wave energy harvesting and its conversion to power Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The harvesting and conversion process was performed using a wave energy converter (WEC) consisting of a lead zirconate titanate piezoelectric ceramic perovskite material and a prototype power electronic circuit. The designed WEC was considered as a power supply for an end node device (END) of an IoT network. The END consisted of a long-range radio module and an electronic paper display. A set of physical experiments were carried out, and the results confirmed that an energy surplus was supplied by WEC compared to the energy consumed by the END. Hence, the proposed scheme was experimentally validated as a convenient solution that could enable the autonomous operation of an IoT device. The use case presented here for the proposed WEC was analysed for selected sea areas on the basis of wave statistics. The novelty of this paper arises from an investigation that confirms that WECs can significantly contribute to the development of wireless and mobile IoT communication powered by freely available sea wave energy.

Irrigation and hydropower are among the most important sectors in the construction industry that propel the economic needs of a developing country like Vietnam. The construction of these projects often suffers from severe delays, leading to financial losses and other negative impacts on the economy. This paper aims to determine delay factors in the construction of these projects. Among many, 39 most important candidates of delay causes were identified from the literature review. Further surveys on project participants were conducted for the severity of these causes. An exploratory factor analysis was utilized to identify latent factors that cause delays in construction projects. The analysis result categorized a few groups of factors such as abnormal factors on the construction site (e.g., labor accidents, hydrology, water flow, extreme weather) and technical factors related to the construction contractor (e.g., unsuitable schedule, outdated construction technology, unprofessional workers) that have the greatest impact on the delay in construction of irrigation and hydropower projects in Vietnam. These findings contribute to the body of knowledge of project management and risk management, hence an improvement in the efficiency of the project sectors’ performance.

Rozwój współczesnych środowisk zurbanizowanych nieustannie powoduje wzrost zapotrzebowania na energię elektryczną. Systemy przesyłowe energetyki krajowej zaprojekowane kilkadziesiąt lat temu ze względu na określone możliwości techniczne wymagają wsparcia technologicznego. Rosnąca liczba prosumentów, klastry energii, OZE, digitalizacja i elektromobilność - to realne wyzwanie współczesnej energetyki światowej.

The development of contemporary urbanized environments perpetually causes the growth of energy requirements. The energy transmission systems designed several dozen years ago need to be supported by some new technologies because of the fact that old systems have limited potential. A growing number of prosumers, energy clusters, renewable energy sources, the digitalization and the electromobility - that is the real challenge of the contemporary global energy technology. Big conventional power plants provide the energy to passive recipients. The cooperation between conventional sources and renewable energy sources is essential due to the production of the electrical energy by the integrated system to recipients and increasingly developed technologies of the energy storage as well. That is why the energy production in small hydro power stations, as the example of one of the first renewable energy sources - watermills designed years ago needs a revitalization in terms of the technology, the environment and the structure. The present article, indicates issues of some regulation of the distribution - in terms of some organization - of even small amount of the produced energy by renewable energy sources for local needs by adjusting some way of the production management that comes from small local producers who have small hydro power stations and some other new hydrotechnical sources of the electrical energy production.

Hydropower is one of the renewable energy sources. Hydropower plants generate electricity using the kinetic energy of flowing water. Although hydroelectric power plants are not as prominent as solar or wind farms, it should be noted that they generate the most significant amount of the power. They are also the most technically advanced projects. Power plants are built with different technical parameters of turbines, different sizes of dams or weirs and different ways of exploiting the energy of flowing water. A common feature, however, is the significant impact of hydroelectric power plants on the functioning of adjacent regions. The paper divides this impact into economic and local development, landscape, and ecological functions, emphasizing the interaction of these influences. The paper discusses the hydromorphological changes taking place in the immediate vicinity of the structure, as a consequence of channel development. The processes of aggradation and degradation of the channel are the answer to hydrodynamic equilibrium loss. These hydrodynamic processes are associated with the subsequent ecological response of the habitat. The most important of these include the dynamic equilibrium loss by the river and the subsequent morphological parameters striving to restore it according to Lane’s relation, known as the most important principle in the fluvial morphology science. The impact of the hydropower plant on the fluvial environment results, first of all, from a significant environmental impact of the damming of the river itself. If the structure is correctly designed, maintained, and operated, it allows controlling the water conditions upstream and downstream with simultaneous energy production. Due to several geometric, hydraulic, and granulometric changes, and further, the resultant economic, landscape, and natural changes that significantly affect the operation of a region, these should be considered as early as the design stage and should be an integral part of any hydroelectric project.

Content available remote The analysis of the reactive work of the Alden turbine
EN
In the analysis of the reactive work of the Alden turbine, two systems of energy recovery were utilized: conical, a straight suction pipe, and a curved diffusor – the so-called bend. The simulations executed on both the systems allowed the operation and selected installation components to be described. Full distribution curves for pressures, velocities were presented, and spectral analyses of pressure fluctuations for the selected points over and under the turbine rotor were also performed. For some structural parts, by means of the FSI – Fluid System Interaction model – the distributions of main stresses and strains according to von Mises theory were illustrated. Additionally, the shapes of deformed installations parts caused by unsymmetrical loads generated mainly by a turbulent water flow were presented.

Przeanalizowano uwarunkowania przyrodnicze i antropogeniczne ponad 300 potencjalnych lokalizacji hydroelektrowni. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz oszacowano potencjał hydroenergetyczny województwa i wskazano najlepsze lokalizacje dla elektrowni wodnych.

One of the sources of electricity used by man is water. Currently the idea of hydroelectric power plants is increasingly appreciated by local governments. Sustainable development and EU directives have required the construction of green power plants. The article outlines the energy situation of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. As a result, it was found that more than half of the energy consumed in the region is produced outside its area. Considering the transmission losses, this is a disadvantage. Hydropower installations are increasingly appearing in the province, but they are still too few. The natural and anthropogenic conditions of more than 300 potential hydropower plants have been analyzed. Based on the conducted research, the hydroelectric potential of the voivodeship was estimated and the best locations for hydropower were identified.
