This study examines the impact of the Tanjung Jati B coal-fired power plant on marine water quality in Jepara, Central Java. It focuses on changes in plankton and benthos communities by assessing species abundance, diversity, uniformity, and dominance as indicators of environmental health. The study takes into four phases: January –June 2021, July – December 2021, January – June 2022, and July – December 2022. Plankton samples were collected using nets with mesh sizes of 30–50 μm and 0.2 mm, while benthos were gathered with an Ekman grab. In the analysis used standard methods and calculated key indices including the Shannon-Weaver diversity index, uniformity index, and dominance index – to assess the health of the ecosystem. The linear regression analysis used to evaluate how these biological parameters changed over time. Findings reveal a noticeable decline in the number of taxa, species abundance, and diversity for both plankton and benthos over the study period. On the other hand, the dominance and uniformity indices showed an upward trend, indicating that a few species are increasingly dominating the community – a clear sign of ecological stress. Overall, these trends suggest that the marine ecosystem is currently experiencing moderate pollution.

The main objective of the article is to conceptualise and operationalise a variable relating to a set of actions in all fields of human activity that reduce the risk of unauthorised use of personal data. In contrast to the approach focusing exclusively on technical ways of securing data, the proposed construct refers to a general reasonable caution in the disposal of one’s own personal data excluding technical aspects. Commitment to protecting one’s own personal data was operationalised using the author’s validated index. The high reliability coefficient (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.85) predisposes the developed tool for use in research on personal data security. In addition, a factor analysis was carried out in the article, allowing a rejection of the hypothesis that the variable in question has at least two independent dimensions, each of which includes activities carried out in the real or virtual world.

The sense of uncertainty has become one of the key criteria of human security in the third decade of the 21st century. The relationship between the sense of uncertainty and human security has been presented in the theoretical-cognitive and empirical aspects. The research results described in this publication are only one of the components of the research project completed in 2022. The aim of the research presented in this article was to analyze the impact of uncertainty on human security in the third decade of the 21st century. The first research problem was related to the recognition of the relationship between human security and the uncertainty of the world on the basis of the existing sources. The second and the third ones concerned the structuring and validation of the index of uncertainty with respect to personal security. The analysis of the obtained field research results showed how important it was to diagnose human and design human security based on social practice, which was reflected in the final conclusions.

Poczucie niepewności stało się jednym z kluczowych kryteriów bezpieczeństwa człowieka w trzeciej dekadzie XXI wieku. Związek pomiędzy poczuciem niepewności a bezpieczeństwem człowieka został przedstawiony w aspekcie teoretyczno-poznawczym oraz empirycznym. Wyniki badań opisane w niniejszej publikacji są tylko jednym z komponentów zrealizowanego projektu badawczego w 2022 roku. Celem badań zaprezentowanych w niniejszej publikacji była analiza wpływu poczucia niepewności na bezpieczeństwo człowieka w trzeciej dekadzie XXI wieku. Pierwszy problem badawczy był związany z ujęciem relacji pomiędzy bezpieczeństwem człowieka a niepewnością świata na podstawie źródeł zastanych. Drugi i trzeci dotyczył budowy i walidacji indeksu poczucia niepewności w obszarze bezpieczeństwa personalnego. Analiza uzyskanych rezultatów badań terenowych pokazała, jak ważne jest diagnozowanie i projektowanie bezpieczeństwa człowieka w oparciu o praktykę społeczną, co znalazło swoje odzwierciedlenie we wnioskach końcowych.

The main research objective of this paper is to identify key factors influencing economic resilience from the perspective of comprehensive defence. This involves developing a composite economic resilience index (Ericda) that outlines the relative economic resilience of countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea regions, within the comprehensive defence framework. The paper employs qualitative research methods, focusing on an analysis of specialist literature pertaining to economic resilience. Quantitative methods are also used for developing the Economic Resilience Index from the Comprehensive Approach to Defence (Ericda) perspective. This includes using data on selected resilience indicators in Central and the Eastern European and Black Sea region countries to generate rankings. The results of the study reveal strong positive correlations between the economic resilience index and various factors, such as logistics and infrastructure, economic complexity, foreign trade vulnerabilities and dependence, economic stability and development, governance effectiveness, military, and human capital. Additionally, a negative correlation was observed with the resilience index. The research findings suggest that to ensure effective comprehensive defence, isolated measures targeting individual pillars are inadequate. Economic resilience requires a collaborative approach, extending beyond the purview of the finance ministry and involving a broader range of stakeholders.

Water is one of the most important natural resources for all living organisms, including humans. Water consumption is increasing over the years as a result of the increase in the number of people, and at the same time, the causes of pollution of surface water sources increase. Water pollution is one of the most important causes of diseases and the transmission of infection to the organisms that use it. Also, the quality of agricultural crops is linked to the quality of the water used for irrigation. As a result, there was a need to monitor and evaluate the main water sources to maintain the quality of their water suitable for use by humans and other organisms. As is well known, it is difficult to evaluate the water quality of large samples with concentrations of many parameters using traditional methods, which depend on comparing experimentally determined parameter values with current standards. As a result, over the past century and the present, many methods of assessing water quality have emerged. This research aims to introduce the most important indices of water quality used at present to assess the quality of surface water for drinking and irrigation purposes, as well as the history of these methods and their development over time and their most important advantages, in addition to a group of the most important research that used these methods during the past few years.

The article measures the scope of reporting climate-related information by companies considered CSR leaders in Poland. An original tool is employed for that purpose: a climate-related disclosures index. First, a critical comparative analysis was performed of climate-related disclosure initiatives (regulations, guidelines, standards) to pinpoint the key and commonly required disclosures. Next, an original index of climate-related disclosures was designed. It helped compute index values for 20 companies perceived as Poland’s CSR leaders. Non-financial reports available in the public domain were analysed for that purpose. The study showed that virtually all climate-related disclosure initiatives implement, to a greater or lesser extent, the TCFD recommendations, which were also embedded in the developed index covering 18 indicators. The total index value (ranging from 0 to 1) for the analysed companies was 0.51, with a median of 0.42. The index demonstrates that companies named CSR leaders in Poland do not display high awareness of climate change.

Celem artykułu jest ocena zakresu raportowania informacji związanych z klimatem przez przedsiębiorstwa uznawane za liderów CSR w Polsce, dokonana za pomocą autorskiego indeksu ujawnień klimatycznych. Najpierw przeprowadzono krytyczną analizę porównawczą treści inicjatyw ujawnień klimatycznych (regulacji, wytycznych i standardów) w celu zidentyfikowania kluczowych i najczęściej wymaganych ujawnień klimatycznych. Na tej podstawie zbudowano autorski indeks ujawnień klimatycznych, w oparciu o który policzono indeks dla 20 firm uznawanych za liderów CSR w Polsce (w oparciu o analizę treści publicznie dostępnych w Internecie raportów niefinansowych firm). Badania pozwoliły stwierdzić, że praktycznie wszystkie inicjatywy ujawnień klimatycznych w większym bądź mniejszym stopniu implementują wytyczne TCFD, które stały się podstawą autorskiego indeksu ujawnień klimatycznych, obejmującego 18 wskaźników. Całkowita wartość indeksu (przyjmującego wartości od 0 do 1) dla analizowanych firm wyniosła 0.51 przy medianie równej 0.42. Indeks pokazuje, że firmy zaliczane do liderów CSR w Polsce nie charakteryzują się wysoką świadomością w zakresie zmian klimatu.

Generalized observers are proposed to relax the existing conditions required to design Luenberger observers for rectangular linear descriptor systems with unknown inputs. The current work is focused on designing index one generalized observers, which can be naturally extended to higher indexes. Sufficient conditions in terms of system operators for the existence of generalized observers are given and proved. Orthogonal transformations are used to derive the results. A physical model is presented to show the usefulness of the proposed theory.

The selection of the most suitable franchisee applicant in an uncertain environment in a particular moment of time is a key decision for a franchisor and the success of a franchising business. In this work, for the first time, we describe a problem for choosing the optimal candidate for the franchise chain and algorithm for a solution in terms of temporal intuitionistic fuzzy pairs and index matrices as a means for data analysis in uncertain conditions over time. We also use our software utility to demonstrate the proposed algorithm and to apply the decision support approach to a franchisee selection for the largest fast food restaurant chain in Bulgaria.

Here we propose for the first time a temporal intuitionistic fuzzy extension of the Hungarian method for solving the Travelling Salesman Problem (TIFHA-TSP) based on intuitionistic fuzzy logic and index matrices theories. The time for passing a given route between the settlements depends on different factors. The expert approach is used to determine the intuitionistic fuzzy time values for passing the routes between the settlements. The rating coefficients of the experts take the times into account. We are also developing an application for the algorithm's provision to use it on a real case of TIFHA-TSP.

This paper studies hydrodynamic and heat transfer performance of Al2O3/H2O nanofluid flowing through a Bessel-like converging pipe in laminar flow regime using the computational fluid dynamic approach. A parametric study was carried out on the effect of Reynolds number (300– 1200), convergence index (0-3) and nanoparticle concentration (0–3%) on the both hydrodynamic and thermal fields. The results showed the pressure drop profile along the axial length of the converging pipes is parabolic compared to the downward straight profile obtained in a straight pipe. Furthermore, an increase in convergence index, Reynolds number and nanoparticle concentration were found to enhance convective heat transfer performance. Also, a new empirical model was developed to estimates the average Nusselt number as a function of aforementioned variables. Finally, the result of the thermohydraulic performance evaluation criterion showed that the usage of Bessel-like converging pipes is advantageous at a low Reynolds number.

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of maritime transport/shipping-related publications between 1975 and November 2018 in order to describe the profile and research themes. Comprehensive queries were used to reveal the general structure of maritime transport/shipping-related literature in the context of the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-Expanded) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) databases. The analysis was conducted using bibliometric mapping. Five years of maritime/shipping literature was also comparatively presented. The results indicated major research areas, leading authors, countries, organizations, journals, and publications with the contributions of the comments of leading authors. Within the five-year period, maritime surveillance research and marine engineering research clusters were identified as developing clusters that expanded and received increased interest. Economic studies decreased, while operations research increased in the maritime transport/shipping literature. Optimization research and marine engineering research appear to be growing research clusters. Interdisciplinary research appears to have a high chance of being published in SCI-Expanded and SSCI in the future. The main contribution of this paper was the identification of areas of current research interests which allowed the quantification and visualization of changes in the entire body of shipping literature over a short time period.

The article considers international trends and directions of inclusive growth which is considered as an inclusive economic growth and is measured by heterogeneous growth indicators, as an index of inclusive development. Considering the above, was analysed the existing state of the country's growth considering the environmental, economic, social and technological components as prerequisites for inclusive environmental management. Thus, the main focus of this article is on the formation of prerequisites for inclusive nature management in socio-economic and environmental practices and their subsequent methodological support. So segments of population prosperity means not just material consumption, but social vision formation and the institutional support creation for enables everyone to participate in the socio-economic achievements. The main gaps in the institutional support of the inclusive environmental management process are disclosed: in the social sphere: limited access to economically viable means that meet the real needs of the population in terms of health care, social assistance, basic education and awareness; in the ecological and economic sphere there is no effective and efficient management of providing the population with products that comply with the requirements of eco-certification and eco-labelling, which negatively affects the replenishment of the state budget and the promotion of the rational use of natural resources. Therefore, in order to create a favourable climate and institutional support of inclusive environmental management, in this article, will conduct a thorough analysis of the status of its components and assess the compliance of the existing conditions with current international requirements for inclusiveness. Inclusive growth requires environmental inclusion, which can be achieved through the introduction of new metrics and resource value indicators in regional development projects and programs. In doing so, measures should be developed and recommendations made to improve further planning and control.

Assessment of the coefficient of mechanization level of loading and unloading works was conducted in the paper. It was established that mechanization of loading activities affects the transport efficiency. The coefficient of mechanization index of loading works obtained for small load capacity aggregates (particularly tractor + cart aggregates) is unsatisfactory (e.g. for loose loads 3.71%). In all load groups and for all transport aggregates a higher mechanization index occurs at unloading works, (e.g. loose loads - loading 53.04, unloading 56.85%). The working time expenditure of transport aggregates is decreasing with increasing efficiency of loading and unloading, which is growing with increasing mechanization of these works. At mechanization index 0% loading works efficiency is 6.55 Mg, whereas at the index 100% - 29.19Mg.

Celem badań było określenie wpływu pojemności wozów asenizacyjnych, stosowanych w gospodarstwach rodzinnych o zróżnicowanej powierzchni użytków rolnych, na wartości podstawowych wskaźników eksploatacyjno-ekonomicznych. Badano trzy zestawy maszynowe do nawożenia: zestaw A – ciągnik Renault 95.14 + wóz asenizacyjny o pojemności 5,8 m3, zestaw B – ciągnik John Deere 6420 + wóz asenizacyjny 12 m3, zestaw C – ciągnik Valtra N 121 + wóz asenizacyjny 8 m3. Podział ten przyjęto ze względu na wielkość gospodarstw, zestaw A stosowany był w gospodarstwie o ogólnym areale 28 ha, B – 60 ha, zaś zestaw C – 90 ha. Oceniano następujące wskaźniki eksploatacyjno-ekonomiczne: godzinowe i jednostkowe koszty nawożenia, nakłady energetyczne ponoszone na wykonanie zabiegu oraz jego pracochłonność, a także zużycie paliwa. Obliczono również wskaźniki postępu technicznego i technologicznego. Godzinowe i jednostkowe koszty nawożenia w zestawach A, B i C wynosiły odpowiednio: 185, 304, 307 złˑh-1 i 162, 108, 74 zˑha-1. Nakłady energetyczne pracy zestawów maszynowych do nawożenia A, B i C wynosiły: 810, 460, 340 MJˑha-1 i 27, 15, 11 MJˑt-1. Wskaźnik postępu technicznego w przypadku pompowania (załadunku) gnojowicy w zestawach A, B i C wynosił: 24, 35, 62 haˑ(1000 zł)-1, a w przypadku czynności nawożenia: 8, 12, 17 haˑ(1000 zł)-1. Wskaźnik postępu technologicznego w przypadku pompowania (załadunku) gnojowicy w zestawach A, B i C wynosił: 80,82; 85,30; 86,26%, natomiast w przypadku czynności nawożenia: 85,24; 88,89; 89,78%.

The aim of research was to determine the effect of load-carrying capacity of the cesspool trucks used in farms of different acreage, on the values of basic operating and economic indices. Three sets of fertilizing machines were investigated: A – Renault 95.14 tractor + cesspool truck of 5.8 m3 capacity; set was used in farm of total acreage 28 ha, B – John Deere 6420 + cesspool truck of 12 m3 capacity; farm acreage 60 ha, C – Valtra N 121 tractor + cesspool truck 8 m3 capacity; farm acreage 90 ha. Following operating-economic indices were estimated: the costs per hour and unitary fertilization costs, energy inputs on realized operation and its labour inputs, as well as the fuel consumption. Indices of technical and technological progress were calculated, too. The costs per hour and unitary costs of fertilizing by complete machine sets A, B and C reached correspondingly 185, 304, 307 PLNˑh-1 and 162, 108, 74 PLNˑha-1. Energy inputs of work for particular fertilization machinery sets A, B, C reached 810, 460, 340 MJˑha-1 and 27, 15, 11 MJˑt-1. The index of technical progress in case of pumping (loading) slurry in the sets A, B, C was 24, 35, 62 haˑ(1000 PLN)-1, in case of fertilization activity 8, 12, 17 haˑ(1000 PLN)-1. The index of technical progress for the slurry loading (pumping) in complete A, B, C sets, was 80.82; 85.30; 86.26%, for the fertilization 85.24; 88.89; 89.78%.

Powszechnie stosowane komercyjne narzędzia doboru indeksów działają na podstawie metod umożliwiających indeksowanie tabel będących częścią niezależnych zapytań SQL. W artykule przedstawiono ideę indeksowania tabel uwzględniającą gęstość grupy zapytań. Przedstawiono wyniki uzyskane autorską Metodą Doboru Indeksów (MDI), opierającą się na algorytmie genetycznym. Przeprowadzone badania pokazują, że dla różnych gęstości zastosowanie indeksu grupowego pozwala skrócić czas wykonania zapytań (o 15%), a także zmniejszyć rozmiar indeksów (o 68-90%).

Commonly used commercial tools are based on a methodology that enables tables indexing for individual SQL queries. The article presents an original method, based on a genetic algorithm, for indexing tables for groups of queries in a relational database. Conducted experiments have shown that the use of indices for a group of queries can reduce the group execution time by 15% as well as can reduce the memory needs by 68-90%.

Przedstawiono zagadnienie indeksacji cytowań w polskich bazach bibliograficznych, zwracając uwagę na potrzebę, zasadność i celowość rejestracji cytowań w krajowych bazach danych. Dokonując przeglądu inicjatyw uwzględniono: bazy dziedzinowe, które z założenia są tworzone jako indeksy cytowań (ICSP, ARTON, CYTBIN, ICHMP), dziedzinowe bazy bibliograficzno-abstraktowe, które indeksowanie cytowań rozpoczęły dopiero na pewnym etapie swego rozwoju (BazEkon, BazTech, AGRO) oraz instytucjonalne bazy dorobku naukowego. Ponadto zasygnalizowano koncepcję utworzenia ogólnopolskiego indeksu cytowań POL-index.

The problems of the indexation of citations in Polish bibliographic databases are presented, with attention being paid to the needs, relevance and purposefulness of the registration of citations in national databases. The review of the initiatives in this field consider: subject databases created by definition as citation indexes (ICSP, ARTON, CYTBIN, ICHMP), subject bibliographic-abstract databases, which began indexing citations only at a certain stage of its development (BazEkon, BazTech, AGRO) as well as academic institutional databases of research performance of the universities. The idea of establishing the POL-index – Polish national citation index is also discussed.

Проанализирована существующая классификация пассажирских поездов в Украине, разработаны предложения по ее усовершенствованию. По результату исследования построен алгоритм обоснования внедрения новой экономической классификации пассажирских поездов.

Omówiono: wprowadzenie szybkich pociągów pasażerskich jako sposób zwiększenia efektywności przewozów pasażerskich, ich kosztowe wskaźniki techniczne i ekonomiczne. Przeanalizowano aktualną klasyfikację pociągów pasażerskich na Ukrainie, opracowano propozycje w zakresie jej doskonalenia. Na podstawie wyniku badania stworzono algorytm uzasadnienia wprowadzenia nowej, ekonomicznej klasyfikacji pociągów pasażerskich.

Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie jednej z koncepcji przyśpieszenia procesu wyboru danych. Indeksy są nieod- łącznym elementem projektowania relacyjnych baz danych. Różnorodność typów może jednak sprawiać problem, który z nich w danej sytuacji należy wybrać. Prezentowane badania mogą być pewnego rodzaju wskazówką. Na szybkość dostępu do danych ma wpływ wiele czynników, między innymi: liczba wierszy tabel odpowiadających warunkowi złączenia, częstotliwość występowania kolumn w warunkach zapytań i selektywność kolumn. Decyzja o użyciu określonego indeksu wymaga umiejętnego analizowania zestawu zapytań trafiających do bazy danych i doświadczenia praktycznego

The purpose of this paper is to present the concept of acceleration of selection process data.. Indexes are integral part of a relational database. However, the variety of types might cause a problem, which type should be used. Our study might be some kind of clue. The speed of an access to data is influenced by many factors for instance: cardinality of table, the frequency of columns in the query conditions and selectivity columns. Decision of using a particular type of index requires a thoughtful analysis of queries as well as practical experience in data base.

The purpose of this study was to develop a body characteristic index (BCI) based on the distribution of maximal oxygen uptake per body mass (VO2max/mass), body surface area per body mass (BSA/mass), and percentage of body fat (Fat%) to evaluate the relative level of individual physiological responses to heat strain in a group of workers. BCI was based upon the data obtained from 10 males and 10 females exercising for 60 min on a treadmill at 2 relative exercise intensities of 25% and 45% VO2max in mild, warm wet, and hot dry climate condition, separately. BCI was developed into 2 formulas, which were proved to be better predictors for heat strain responses than each individual characteristic, and more sensitive than body type to describe the distributions of individual characteristics and distinguish the differences in physiological responses to heat.

W rozdziale przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących awaryjności kluczowych maszyn w wybranym przedsiębiorstwie produkującym rury preizolowane na potrzeby przemysłu ciepłowniczego. Analizy awaryjności dokonano przy pomocy wskaźników dostępności, efektywności i skuteczności w oparciu o miary niezawodności, takie jak MTTR, MTBF, MDT. Analizie poddano dwie maszyny oraz ich układy: mechaniczny i elektryczny na przestrzeni ostatnich trzech lat. Badania pozwoliły określić, które maszyny najczęściej ulegają awarii, jakie układy są najbardziej awaryjne i jaki jest czas usuwania uszkodzeń. Wyniki badań pozwoliły zidentyfikować słabe strony w procesie utrzymania ruchu oraz sformułować zalecenia działań doskonalących ten proces

In this chapter, the results of investigations into the failure rate of crucial machines in a selected enterprise manufacturing pre-insulated pipes for the needs of the heat generating industry have been presented. The failure rate analysis has been conducted using the indices of availability, effectiveness and efficacy, on the basis of reliability measures, such as MTTR, MTBF, MDT. The functioning of two machines and their systems: mechanical and electrical over a period of three last years was subjected to analysis. The investigations allowed determining in which machines failures occur the most frequently, which systems are the most likely to break down and what the time of failure removal is. The research results enabled identifying weak points in the maintenance process and made it possible to formulate some recommendations for this process improvement.
