The article deals with a FEM analysis of main parts of an engineering design of a pneumatically controlled manipulator, which will serve for mounting a compressor to a PO536 car chassis. This car chassis belongs to SUV cars and it is equipped with a pneumatic suspension system. It is the chassis of a Porsche Cayenne car produced in the Slovak Republic. The designed manipulator will be located on the assembly line of this vehicle. Except of FEM analyses of designed important parts of the manipulator, which are necessary for verification of safety of the design in order to obtain distribution of stresses and deformations in a structure, the it contains also the design of a pneumatic circuit of the manipulator together with pneumatic logic and it individual components. Based on three-dimensional model, there will be possible to generate drawings of the manipulator for manufacturing of the device and its application to the real operation.

The article defines the rather complex and unpredictable movement of the dough in the gap between the working rolls and suggests the calculation for the optimal parameters for the rolls shape (particularly the parameters and their effect on the dough). The functional dependences of the permissible diameter and the gap between rotating rollers were substantiated. The block diagram of the geometric bounding parameters of the gradient field of the viscous fluid flow was proposed and the equation on the basic constructive parameters (h, r) affecting the pouring process efficiency was presented. The analysis of the experimental results revealed that the main features of the machine provide the necessary stable shape products and good rheological parameters of these products. The rheological testing indicators allow for a rational approach to the decision to operate a rolling process. At the same time, they improve the quality control methods and have an influence on the design parameters of rollers and modes of chambers. The proposed method not only allows obtaining a predetermined pressure, but also enables defining the optimal shape of the gap, wherein the pressure gradient is constant.

This article discussed the determination of a metro vehicle’s door forces acting on its coarse structure. With previous articles addressing this issue, a definition of a specific reference vehicle was provided together with the collection of the normative requirements for metro vehicles. These form a basis for addressing the issue. The main objective hereof was to design a technical solution of a door system for the reference vehicle and create a parametric model of the door's forces acting on the vehicle’s rough structure. This model would serve to approximate and operatively quantify these force effects of the door to the vehicle’s structure by modifying the various input parameters. Therefore, it was necessary to create a mathematical model of the equilibrium conditions of the proposed door system and to quantify them using a developed software. Subsequently, these results served as inputs for the FEM analysis of the load-bearing components between the door and the vehicle’s structure.

The objective of this contribution is the application of a new methodology for assessing connectivity in passenger transport regarding selected tariff points accessibility in the context of developing the selected region. From the passenger´s point of view, it is necessary to specially assess the accessibility of lines within transportation, between the selected destinations using passenger air transport. The length of the travel time, the number of necessary transfers and the number of travel opportunities affects the possibilities of transport between place A and B. The connections and lines are thus influenced by many factors. This is the basic point to consider when designing a set of evaluation criteria for assessing the connectivity and in carrying out a case study for a specific region. In this paper, Václav Havel Airport in Prague (Czech Republic) with selected air transport connections were evaluated according to the proposed methodology.

The presented article examines, on the example of 100 surveys among drivers moving around the region of Biała Podlaska, the level of exhaust emissions generated by their cars. The analysis was based on the information about the make and model of a vehicle, year of production, a type of fuel and EURO standard to which the car was assigned. In addition, information was collected on the average annual mileage (km) of the analyzed cars. The above information allowed to make speculations on the amount of harmful substances emitted by the examined cars, and then to make a reservation as if all the vehicles were in EURO VI standard. For one hundred cars tested in the survey, these values would be: - 1390500 g of issued CO, which would result in a 28.33% decrease compared to the current situation; - 153180 g NOx, which would result in a decrease of 66.47%; - 69300 g HC (in the case of petrol engines), which would result in a decrease of 36.77%; - 6975 g PM (in the case of DIESEL engines), which would result in a decrease of 87.33%. The solution to the problem of excessive emission of harmful substances arising from the combustion of fuels could be the exchange of cars for those falling within the EURO VI standard. The interest in this idea would be significant if appropriate incentives for the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles were introduced.

W przedstawionym artykule zbadano, na przykładzie 100 ankiet wśród kierowców poruszających się po regionie Biała Podlaska, poziom emisji spalin generowanych przez ich samochody. Analiza opierała się na informacjach dotyczących marki i modelu pojazdu, roku produkcji, rodzaju paliwa zasilającego oraz normy EURO, do której zaliczono dany samochód. Ponadto zebrano informacje na temat średniego rocznego przebiegu (km) analizowanych samochodów. Powyższe informacje pozwoliły przeprowadzić spekulacje na temat ilości emitowanych substancji szkodliwych przez przebadane auta, a następnie prognozować, jak wyglądałaby sytuacja, gdyby wszystkie pojazdy spełniały normę EURO VI. Dla stu samochodów testowanych w badaniu wartości te byłyby następujące: - 1390500 g wydanego CO, co spowodowałoby spadek o 28,33% w porównaniu z obecną sytuacją; - 153180 g NOx, co spowodowałoby spadek o 66,47%; - 69300 g HC (w przypadku silników benzynowych), co spowodowałoby spadek o 36,77%; - 6975 g PM (w przypadku silników DIESEL), co spowodowałoby spadek o 87,33%. Rozwiązaniem problemu nadmiernej emisji szkodliwych substancji, powstających w wyniku spalania paliw, mogłaby być wymiana samochodów na te zaliczające się do normy EURO VI. Zainteresowanie tym pomysłem byłoby znaczne, gdyby wprowadzono odpowiednio zachęcające dotacje do zakupu pojazdów przyjaznych środowisku.

This contribution is focused on an engineering design of main components of a door system intended to be mounted on an underground railway vehicle. The design has to take into account the operational and normative requirements for the underground railway vehicle's outer door. The design of main dimensions of a door will serve as input data for creation of a virtual model and it will be used to determine the load conditions for the numerical simulation in terms of strength. The aim is using this preparation to obtain all the necessary data entering the analytical calculations for setting up a parametric model, which will serve as a base for possible derivation of the designed structure.

Głównym tematem pracy jest inżynierski projekt głównych elementów systemu drzwiowego przeznaczonego do zamontowania w podziemnym pojeździe kolejowym. Projekt musi uwzględniać wymagania operacyjne i normatywne dla zewnętrznych drzwi pojazdu kolejowego. Zaprojektowane główne wymiary drzwi posłużą jako dane wejściowe do stworzenia modelu wirtualnego, co zostanie wykorzystane do określenia warunków obciążenia dla symulacji numerycznej pod względem wytrzymałości. Celem jest wykorzystanie tych symulacji do uzyskania wszystkich niezbędnych danych wprowadzanych do obliczeń analitycznych w celu utworzenia modelu parametrycznego, który posłuży jako podstawa do wykonania zaprojektowanej struktury.

For internal combustion engines, many faults relating to the combustion process can occur, which affect the engine technical condition, its electrical equipment, the natural environment, etc. This article presents the results of the influence of the regulatory factor, which was the fuel dose (3 dose values), on selected parameters of the start-up process at constant settings of other control parameters (fuel injection advance angle and injection pressure). The tests of the start-up process were carried out on a fourstroke single-cylinder diesel engine. In this study, the results of the following electrical start-up parameters were analyzed: the maximum current consumed by the starter, difference of voltages on the battery before and after the start-up, voltage drop on the battery at the beginning of the start-up, average power of the starter, starter operation time, and the maximum pressure value in the first combustion cycle.

W artykule omówiono miejsce i rolę transportu publicznego w kreowaniu mobilności mieszkańców miasta. Zwrócono uwagę na fakt niedoceniania w wielu rankingach roli transportu zbiorowego w kształtowaniu mobilności mieszkańców miast. Indykatory wykorzystywane w rankingach w niewielkim stopniu odnoszą się do oceny jakości funkcjonowania transportu publicznego z pozycji użytkownika-pasażera. Brak w wielu ankietach (rankingach) np. takiego kryterium jak dostępność i lokalizacja przystanków czy też stopień ułatwienia podróżowania osobom starszym lub z ograniczoną sprawnością.

The article discusses the place and role of public transport in creating the mobility of city dwellers. Attention has been paid to the fact of underestimating the role of public transport in many rankings in the urban mobility. Indicators used in the rankings to a small extent related to the assessment of the quality of operation of public transport from the passenger-user position. There is no such as availability and location of the stops or degree of facilitation of travel by the elderly or the limited efficiency.

The article presents the methods for preliminary statistical analyses of selected maintenance parameters of vehicles in road transport companies. The methodology was illustrated by presenting the results pertaining to the calculations of the maintenance intensity as well as the cost of parts and repairs of cars in the Lublin Regional Branch of the Polish Post Logistics Centre. These results provided comparative material useful in the evaluation of the maintenance efficiency of various road transport systems.

In the paper the results of research on the use of cavitation effects in certain technologiesare presented. Intensification of mass transfer processes in the system ‘solid phase - liquid’ is reviewed taking into account solid phase cavitation crashing, turbulization of boundary diffusion layer of fluid by cavitation bubbles, the emergence of non-stationary aspects of mass transfer, changes in physical and chemical properties of the liquid phase. Prospects of practical use of cavitation equipment in industryare also described.

The article presents a statistical analysis of daily kilometrages of vehicles operated by a selected transport company in the period of three consecutive years (2013-2015). Company vehicles have been divided into four categories depending on gross vehicle mass and the type of their intended transport use. Statistical analyses of daily vehicle kilometrages showed statistically significant differences in daily kilometrage across different vehicle categories and in various months throughout the year.

The aim of this study was to analyse the possibilities of improving the ecological parameters of compression – ignition CI engines. During the analysis of exhaust gas, attention was mainly paid to the emission of nitrogen oxides and carbon black soot. A method was proposed to reduce the above chemical elements in CI – engine exhaust fumes by using the annular channels on the non-working part of the fuel injector needle and applying a platinum catalyst on them. The task of these annular channels is to mix and agitate the fuel before injection to the combustion chamber and to enlarge the contact surface area of catalyst. The task of catalytic coating is to initiate the reaction of dehydrogenation of paraffinic hydrocarbons to olefinic ones with a free hydrogen molecule. Hydrogen, owing to its properties, can shorten the period of delay of spontaneous ignition of combustible mixture in the engine combustion chamber, which affects the entire combustion process and improves the ecological parameters of a CI engine.
