Purpose: The article aims to respond the following questions: 1) What are sustainable competencies? What are the components of these competencies? 2) What does the science map for sustainable competencies look like? Design/methodology/approach: The article utilizes the narrative and bibliometric review methods of papers on sustainable competencies, indexed in the Scopus database. Findings: The authors identified different approaches to the analyzed competencies. They proposed a division of sustainable competencies, taking into account different professional groups. They showed that the greatest research attention has so far been focused on higher education for sustainable development. There is a paucity of research on practices undertaken by employers as part of human resource development. Research limitations/implications: This research is limited to literature indexed in the Scopus database. Practical implications: This article educates readers about the role of sustainable competencies in today's working world. It can help them to better understand what skills are crucial for their career success. Giving concrete examples of sustainable competencies and their role in different professional fields can provide practical guidance for people who are looking for career development tips. Furthermore, the article shows how - i.e., through the use of sustainable competencies - employees can contribute to social and environmental progress. Social implications: By highlighting the importance of sustainable competencies, the paper contributes to a broader understanding and adoption of sustainability practices, ultimately leading to more sustainable societies. Originality/value: This is the first review on sustainable competencies. A division of these competencies into those required from all employees and those represented by sustainability specialists (including representatives of so-called green jobs) is proposed. The authors also formulated future research directions.

This article addresses the valuation of technical infrastructure objects in relation to the categorization methodology of lighthouses (LM) proposed by Szubryt (2021), with particular emphasis on the category of freestanding lighthouses (LM W). The aim of the research was to identify relationships between location, architectural form, and how LM are integrated into the coastal landscape. The article proposes dividing LM W into subcategories considering typical landscapes (cliff, beach, island, port) and analyzes the characteristic features of each subcategory based on comparative analysis and field research, in order to examine the dependencies between location and its influence on form, materials, construction, and functionality of LM.

The late-Modernist pavilions in the Upper Silesian area constitute a unique group of buildings that are the cultural and artistic heritage of the region. Their small scale and simple adaptability to a variety of uses made them easily fit into the existing context. They were built in large numbers, and, in many cases, their creators were prominent Silesian architects. The purpose of this paper is to identify pavilion buildings, present their typology and analyse their state of preservation with regard to original appearance, both in terms of architecture and details. The research used the method of library and archive searches and historical analysis of iconographic materials, as well as the method of comparative analysis of the materials collected during the on-site research. The multifaceted activity made it possible to identify the features of typical pavilions and document their gradual disappearance caused by uncontrolled interventions. The numerous redevelopments and modernizations of these buildings have obliterated their original appearance, which is a legacy of Modernism. The findings also shed new light on the problem of lack of conservation.

The article presents the methodological basis of the proposed typology of façade textures for traditional rural and small-town buildings constructed of natural stone. Such structures can still be found in Poland, mainly in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, Lublin, Kielce, and Silesian regions, as well as further north, in the central part of the country. Increasingly, these types of buildings, due to their historical and architectural significance, are being protected by conservation efforts, revitalized, or designated as regional standards for contemporary construction projects. The premise for the undertaken research is the authors' belief that classical classifications of stone walls are too general to reflect their actual typological and regional diversity. The proposed methodology is based on determining geometric parameters, including the size and proportions of stone elements, their distribution in the wall, and the surface ratio of stone to mortar. The research was conducted on walls built of natural stone from the Uniejów area (central Poland). It involved the analysis of four selected textures roughly corresponding to wall types: wild, layered, regular and mosaic.

W artykule zawarto metodyczne podstawy projektowanej typologii tekstur elewacyjnych w tradycyjnych budynkach wiejskich i małomiasteczkowych murowanych z naturalnego kamienia.

In morphology, a distinction is commonly drawn between inflection and derivation. However, a precise definition of this distinction which reflects the way it manifests across languages remains elusive within linguistic theory, typically being based on subjective tests. In this study, we present 4 quantitative measures which use the statistics of a raw text corpus in a language to estimate to what extent a given mor-phological construction changes the form and distribution of lexemes. In particular, we measure both the average and the variance of this change across lexemes. Crucially, distributional information captures syntactic and semantic properties and can be operationalised by word embeddings. Based on a sample of 26 languages, we find that we can recon-struct 89±1% of the classification of constructions into inflection and derivation in UniMorph using our 4 measures, providing large-scale cross-linguistic evidence that the concepts of inflection and deriva-tion are associated with measurable signatures in terms of form and distribution that behave consistently across a variety of languages. We also use our measures to identify in a quantitative way whether categories of inflection which have been considered non-canonical in the linguistic literature, such as inherent inflection or transpositions, appear so in terms of properties of their form and dis-tribution. We find that while combining multiple measures reduces the amount of overlap between inflectional and derivational construc-tions, there are still many constructions near the model’s decision boundary between the two categories. This indicates a gradient, rather than categorical, distinction.

This paper studies the inflectional complexity of nouns, verbs and adjectives in 137 datasets, across 71 languages. I follow Ackerman and Malouf (2013) in distinguishing between E(numerative) complexity and I(ntegrative) complexity. The first one encompasses aspects of inflection, like the number of principal parts, paradigm size, and number of exponents, while the second one captures the implicative relations between paradigm cells (how difficult it is to predict one cell of a paradigm knowing a different cell). I provide a formalism and computational implementation to estimate both I- and E-complexity expressed through Word and Paradigm morphology (Blevins 2006, 2016), which is flexible and powerful enough for typological research. The results show that, as suggested by Ackerman and Malouf (2013), I-complexity is relatively low across the languages in the sample, with only two clear exceptions (Navajo and Yaitepec-Chatino). The results also show that E-complexity can vary considerably crosslinguistically. Finally, I show there is a clear correlation between I- and E-complexity.

This article presents the structure of the ATLAs Alignment Module, a typological database designed to exhaustively capture language-internal variation in argument marking (indexing and flagging). The flexible design of our database can be extended to cover further aspects of morphosyntactic alignment. We demonstrate with a small diversity sample how the database can be queried and the data aggregated at different levels of structure (e.g. for a language as a whole or for in-dividual referential types in the form of alignment statements) for the purposes of cross-linguistic comparison. The database is made avail-able in the Cross-Linguistic Data Formats (CLDF), and we provide code that generates an array of aggregations.

An "urban farm", constituting an area of biologically active surface, most often intended for the cultivation of useful plants, is an important and increasingly emerging component in the creation of sustainable "new urbanization". The aim of this publication is to demonstrate that the introduction of farms into the urban fabric is a response to contemporary processes taking place in the city and has a positive impact on shaping the functional and spatial structure of cities in the context of sustainable urbanization. The intention is to systematize the types of currently emerging urban farms, in terms of functionality and structure, based on the adopted criteria for the division of forms of urban agriculture, and to present examples of the theoretical formation of urban farm facilities in relation to their type and location. The results indicate that the selection of the appropriate location, form and structure is crucial in shaping farms. The benefits demonstrated by the implementation of this type of facilities and spaces determine the quality of life in the city and the future of urban planning assumptions. As a result of the spatial concentration of cities and intensified urban and demographic processes, the establishment of urban farms is an alternative structure for the economic and ecological cultivation of plants or animal breeding. It is also one of the methods of revitalization and innovative activities using modern technological possibilities, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

The subject of the article is Nadświdrzańska architecture, commonly known as Świdermajer, and the architecture referred to as Neo-świdermajer, i.e. new buildings appearing in the discussed region and referring to historical architecture. The aim was to present the most characteristic type of shaping historical forms and to prove that contemporary buildings continue these systems. A typological comparative analysis of solid systems was used for this purpose. The text presents the genesis of the phenomenon, the state of research, typology and drawings showing the most characteristic elements of the discussed architecture (verandas and decorative formwork profiles), lists of projections of historical and contemporary buildings and boards juxtaposing the solids of Nadświdrzańska architecture and Neo-świdermajer. On the basis of the presented material, it can be concluded that the theses regarding the variety of ways of shaping solids in the historical architec- ture and the assumption of the possibility of distinguishing dominant types of shaping solids have been confirmed. New architecture can be assigned to specific typologies of historical buildings. Thus, this work begins a scientific reflection on a new phenomenon, which is Neo-świdermajer.

Content available remote Typology of city residents’ activity in terms of their mobility
EN
The article presents the results of research whose main objective was to present typological differentiation of city residents based on their level of mobility. The research attempted to analyze the evolution and differences in mobility – as an expression of preferences for urban travel – among the identified respondent mobility types, taking into account the issues related to decisions on the method and frequency of travel and socio-demographic variables. The nationwide research was conducted on a sample of 1,050 representatives of city population using the quota sampling technique and an electronic survey questionnaire. The research enabled the authors to present a structured classification of five different types of mobility. The group of most active respondents are characterized by the most complex travel chain involving a wide range of transport modes used with high frequency in their usual travels around their cities. The results can be useful in modification of the existing attitudes and habits in the area of mobility behavior and in directing the attention of city residents towards more environmentally friendly solutions. Moreover, the results can also prove helpful to road authorities and policy makers in dealing with decision problems occurring at all stages of infrastructural road projects, especially to those who wish to provide a more user-friendly solutions in the road infrastructure.

Wyniki badań mogą zostać z powodzeniem wykorzystane w modyfikowaniu dotychczasowych postaw i zwyczajów w obszarze zachowań mobilnościowych oraz w kierowaniu uwagi mieszkańców miast w stronę rozwiązań bardziej przyjaznych środowisku.

The number of types and classes of benchmarking cited in the literature proves not only the great interest of researchers in this issue, but also the lack of systematization of theoretical issues in the area of benchmarking classification and typology. The divisions of benchmarking are characterized by a certain inconsistency and violation of the applicable logical rules. As a result, a large number of its classifications and typologies make it difficult to properly understand the essence of its particular types and the use of benchmarking theory in practice. The purpose of this article was to sort out the classification and typology of benchmarking with the use of the principles of correct logical division of concepts. Deductive methods of scientific work were used, which allowed for the reconstruction of knowledge derived from the studied literature and for drawing conclusions relevant to achieving the objective. Due to the article volume limitations, the mechanism of creating correct logical divisions has been shown. The simplest division of benchmarking that ensures correctness ex definitione is a dichotomous one. Dichotomous logical divisions of benchmarking were developed according to selected criteria, i.e. object, industry, subject, type of data, degree of formalization, external support, frequency and relations between partners in benchmarking. Taking into account the large number of benchmarking classifications and typologies in the literature, it was considered appropriate to distinguish internal and external benchmarking as two basic classes. The other types of benchmarking fall into these two categories. Internal and external benchmarking (sub-ranges obtained as a result of a logical division according to the criterion of the object), can be subdivided according to subsequent division criteria, obtaining a multi-level classification or typology of benchmarking. The presented proposals to sort out the issues related to the benchmarking classification and typology may contribute to the development of the benchmarking theory by forming the correct knowledge in this area.

The subject of development construction has been a dominant topic in public discussions regarding city development for years. The topics discussed include rising real estate prices and the architecture of new buildings, "concreting" cities and the so-called "Pato-developer". The authors of the neologism "path developer" wanted to define with it a whole range of undesirable effects, consequences and abuses of activity occurring in the activities of housing developers, such as the construction of apartments with excessively compressed space, the so-called micro-studios, premises with extremely non-functional or even bizarre layouts, etc. On the other hand, the main factor for the success of development investments and the choice of investments by customers is the location. It seems an interesting problem to answer the question whether a good location is correlated with good architecture and investment planning. The analysis will concern the Krakow housing market.

The Grammar Matrix project is a meta-grammar engineering framework expressed in Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG) and Minimal Recursion Semantics (MRS). It automates grammar implementation and is thus a tool and a resource for linguistic hypothesis testing at scale. In this paper, we summarize how the Grammar Matrix grew in the last decade and describe how new additions to the system have made it possible to study interactions between analyses, both monolingually and cross-linguistically, at new levels of complexity.

Over the past few years, murals have actively and firmly entered into the fabric of the architectural environment as one of the most powerful artistic means of urban art. According to the latest statistics, Ukraine, and Kyiv in particular, tops the list of leaders of the countries with the largest number of murals. Based on the historical context, the murals performed a social and propaganda mission. Already in the XXI century, Ukraine has experienced two revolutions. And they became a powerful impetus for the active manifestation of „street art” on free surfaces. But in contrast to the monumental and decorative compositions of totalitarian art, which still adorn the cities of Ukraine, the artistic and graphic language has changed. Young designers in modern graphic trends, form an updated visual representation of established stylistic solutions. The purpose of the article is an attempt to determine the historical conditions of the murals’ development, the features and principles of their solutions in the city space, as well as modern and promising means of implementation. The article discusses the factors and conditions of the evolution of modern murals, their typology and thematic focus, techniques and means of spatial composition and artistic solutions.

In the literature on the subject, the term "security" is accompanied by the terms "non-threatening state", "non-threatening state of peace", "state of peace", "state of certainty". The lexical meaning of the term (Latin sine cura – no worries) should be understood as a situation in which there are no threats. In the context of lexical meaning, the term security means a risk-free situation. Contemporary understanding of the term focuses its attention on learning security understood as the resultant of the theory and practice of providing a reference subject with the possibility of survival (existence) and the pursuit of own interests, particularly using opportunities, taking challenges, minimizing risk and counteracting all types of threats. Definitive approaches to the term security indicate that it should be understood as a state and process. The state of security should be understood as a sense of confidence of the subject and guarantee of its survival, while the process – as chance for improvement and development of state’s means to protect and defend it. The current catalog of security threats proposed by Barry Buzan was extended in the second half of the 20th century from military nature threats to threats of a political, economic, social, and environmental nature. These changes have redefined the modern understanding of security. The main research problem was formulated as the question: what are the theoretical aspects of contemporary security threats? The article aims to analyze and diagnose contemporary definitions of security and its threats. The research process uses methodological methods of scientific cognition, mainly analysis and criticism of literature.

Proces badawczy wykorzystuje metodologiczne metody poznania naukowego, głównie analizę i krytykę literatury.

Research on cross-linguistic differences in morphological paradigms reveals a wide range of variation on many dimensions, including the number of categories expressed, the number of unique forms, and the number of inflectional classes. However, in an influential paper, Ackerman and Malouf (2013) argue that there is one dimension on which languages do not differ widely: in predictive structure. Predictive structure in a paradigm describes the extent to which forms predict each other, called i-complexity. Ackerman and Malouf (2013) show that although languages differ according to measure of surface paradigm complexity, called e-complexity, they tend to have low i-complexity. They conclude that morphological paradigms have evolved under a pressure for low i-complexity. Here, we evaluate the hypothesis that language learners are more sensitive to i-complexity than e-complexity by testing how well paradigms which differ on only these dimensions are learned. This could result in the typological findings Ackerman and Malouf (2013) report if even paradigms with very high e-complexity are relatively easy to learn, so long as they have low i-complexity. First, we summarize a recent work by Johnson et al. (2020) suggesting that both neural networks and human learners may actually be more sensitive to e-complexity than i-complexity. Then we build on this work, reporting a series of experiments which confirm that, indeed, across a range of paradigms that vary in either e- or icomplexity, neural networks (LSTMs) are sensitive to both, but show a larger effect of e-complexity (and other measures associated with size and diversity of forms). In human learners, we fail to find any effect of i-complexity on learning at all. Finally, we analyse a large number of randomly generated paradigms and show that e- and i-complexity are negatively correlated: paradigms with high e-complexity necessarily show low i-complexity. We discuss what these findings might mean for Ackerman and Malouf’s hypothesis, as well as the role of ease of learning versus generalization to novel forms in the evolution of paradigms.

The existence of many field estates, despite their apparent order, from the landscape point of view is chaotic, incoherent and inefficient in terms of communication. The article attempts to create a typology of the most characteristic layouts of housing estates and to indicate the main factors influencing the formation of building complexes. The subject of the study is the analysis of the specificity of the spatial development of suburban zones in three cities: Rzeszów, Poznań and Warsaw. The aim of the analysis is to show the similarities and differences in selected areas. The implementation effect is the recognition of the nature of the buildings spreading outside the city’s territory. Determining the typology of buildings that can be located in specific areas may also help in practice of issuing decisions on development conditions. The catalogue of possible solutions, together with the analysis of the produced communication systems, will allow to forecast the spatial shape of future investments and, consequently, to optimize the provisions limiting pathological solutions.
