Cyclones are widely used in scparation for gas-solid flow because of their simple structure and Iow cost. One from few of their defects is erosion wear of the separators elements. The computational fluid dynamie model was used to identify the areas, where collisions of particles with the wali of the cyclone separator are very intense.
The most important, strategic goal of a modern company (disregarding its size and type of processes executed) is its success on the market, which guarantees its future progress. Every company functions in a certain surrounding (closer or further), which determines acievement of these goals. However, nowadays it becomes more and more extensive, diversified and unstable. The article presents the analysis of methods enabling identification of factors which can be found in enterprise's surrounding. An attempt to indicate factors which have influence on enterprise's success was made as well.

The paper presents the mathematical model describing a flow of the gas-solid particles mixture in a cyclone separator, as well as methods of erosion wear forecasting for separator elements. The model is a development of the methods applied in [1] for the evaluation of erosion wear in the boiler dust installations. Numerical calculations have been done with the Fluent program.

W artykule przedstawiono model matematyczny, opisujący przepływ mieszaniny gaz-cząstki stałe w separatorze cyklonowym oraz metodykę prognozowania zużycia erozyjnego elementów separatora. Model stanowi rozwinięcie metod stosowanych w pracy [1] do oceny zużycia erozyjnego instalacji pyłowych kotłów. Obliczenia numeryczne zrealizowano przy wykorzystaniu programu Fluent.
