In this paper, we introduce a new class of functions called contra R-maps which is contained in the class of regular set connected functions and contains (0, s)-continuous functions. Some characterizations of hyperconnected spaces are given by using contra R-maps and we observe that hyperconnectedness is preserved under the contra R-maps.
