Abstrakty
Podstawowymi zagadnieniami poruszanymi w pracy są wybrane zastosowania metod numerycznych i geometrii obliczeniowej wykorzystywane w modelowaniu i przetwarzaniu informacji do rozwiązywania interdyscyplinarnych problemów naukowych, które zostały wdrożone w postaci rozwiązań informatycznych w ramach projektów naukowo-badawczych dla przemysłu oraz w badaniach podstawowych, w których brał udział autor niniejszej rozprawy. W szczególności tematyka przedstawionych badań dotyczy estymacji w czasie rzeczywistym obciążalności kabli elektroenergetycznych średniego i wysokiego napięcia wdrażane w postaci rozwiązań informatycznych dla Ontario Hydro, Kinectrics Inc. oraz Consolidated Edison Company w New York City, prowadzonych między innymi w ramach projektu NATO nr 960050, zlecanych projektów badawczych oraz częściowo finansowane z projektu KBN nr N511 020 31/36873, których celem było opracowanie wielodomenowych modeli dynamicznych kabli energetycznych i wdrożenie opartego na nich systemu monitorującego stan oraz zapas mocy linii elektroenergetycznych chłodzonych olejem dla napięć 10-400 kV, z uwzględnieniem wzajemnego sprzężenia elektrotermicznego prowadzonych równolegle grup kabli instalowanych w ziemi, tunelu i na wolnym powietrzu ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem analizy mechaniki płynów. W ramach tej tematyki przedstawiono: Aktualny stan wiedzy oraz dopuszczalne parametry termiczne nakładane na kable energetyczne. Przegląd aktualnych norm nakładających na modelowane instalacje uwzględniające bezpieczne warunki pracy dla maksymalnych przeciążeń, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem parametrów termicznych gruntu oraz rzeczywistych zakresów ich zmian. Przegląd warunków pozwalających określić możliwość występowania niestabilności termicznej gleby, uwzględniających fizykę ośrodków porowatych. Zebrane dostępne w literaturze wzory i metody numerycznego modelowania przepływu energii na drodze radiacji w instalacjach elektroenergetycznych prowadzonych w tunelach i duktach, wraz z korektą błędów publikowanych w literaturze specjalistycznej. Typowe zachowanie instalacji chłodzonych olejem, w przypadku zmian obciążenia oraz prędkości przepływu oleju. W pracy wskazano także krytyczne warunki, dla których model chłodzenia kabli olejem zaproponowany przez Buller'a, przestaje obowiązywać. Opracowany model przepływu ciepła w chłodzonych olejem elektroenergetycznych instalacjach przesyłowych wraz z definicją zaproponowanego syntetycznego parametru określającego długość drogi efektywnego chłodzenia instalacji. Opracowany adaptacyjnego modelu radiacyjno-konwekcyjnego transportu ciepła w tunelu i kanałach kablowych. Dyskretny model sezonowego obciążenia dobowego instalacji oraz temperatury odniesienia ziemi, który może być zastosowany do testowania oprogramowania monitorującego instalacje kablowe. W pracy przedstawiono również zastosowanie metod numerycznych i geometrii obliczeniowej w diagnostyce i badaniach podstawowych prowadzonych nad amyloidozami mózgowymi (fi-fibrillozy) stanowiących grupę chorób neurozwyrodnieniowych takich jak np.: choroba Alzheimera, choroba Creutzfeldta-Jakoba oraz encefalopatia gąbczasta bydła (BSE), które były prowadzone w ramach grantów KBN 8 T11E 022 16 oraz 3 THE 032 26, a także w ramach polsko-brytyjskiego programu badawczego ang. British-Polish Research Partnership Program. Badania te zaowocowały między innymi opracowaniem przedstawionej w niniejszej rozprawie: Unikalnej metody trójwymiarowej rekonstrukcji struktur biologicznych dla obrazów mikroskopowych o wysokiej rozdzielczości i wielkości, otrzymanych w wyniku cięcia badanego preparatu ultramikrotomem. Nowej metody generacji punktów charakterystycznych (ang. landmarkpoint) oraz wyszukiwania wzorców pozwalających na automatyczną rejestrację w/w obrazów mikroskopowych o dużym zróżnicowaniu obiektów. Metoda ta pozwala również na inteligentną lokalizację podobnych obiektów występujących na różnych obrazach oraz automatyczne kojarzenie grup obrazów zawierających kolejne fragmenty tych samych obiektów biologicznych. Metody normalizacji elektronogramów eliminującą zmiany intensywności i kontrastu obrazów wynikające ze zmian w procesie wybarwiania oraz wywoływania. Przeprowadzeniem pierwszych prób zastosowania probabilistycznego modelowania syntetycznego rozrostu tkanki z wykorzystaniem GHMRF do modelowania rozwoju amyloidoz mózgowych. W niniejszej rozprawie przedstawiono również zastosowanie powyższych metod w informatyce biometrycznej do rozpoznawania osób na podstawie obrazu tęczówki oka. Prace nad tą tematyką zostały podjęte między innymi w ramach grantu KBN 3 TUB 008 27. W wyniku ich realizacji zaproponowano przedstawiony w niniejszej publikacji algorytm IrisConstelation umożliwiający wygenerowanie sygnatury obrazu tęczówki na podstawie geometrii i topologii punktów charakterystycznych mający stanowić próbę opracowania nowej metody identyfikacji osób na podstawie tęczówki oka - podejścia pozbawionego podstawowych wad dotychczasowych metod, w wyniku zastosowania nowych idei a także przełamującego dotychczasowe patenty i stwarzającą możliwość udostępnienia środowisku naukowemu algorytmów identyfikacji pozwalający na ich dalszy swobodny rozwój. W pracy przedstawiono również analizę wad dotychczasowych metod, które są w dużej mierze pomijane podczas prezentacji komercyjnych systemów rozpoznających osoby na podstawie obrazu tęczówki oka.
The essential problems brought-up in the dissertation consist in applying of selected numerical methods and computational geometry to interdisciplinary scientific problems using object modelling and identification on the basis of processing of experimental data. The studies have been carried-out as a basic research and in the course of industry-related projects. In particular, the subject matter of presented research concerns design of the real-time systems dedicated to estimation of state of the high voltage power cables and rating of their load capacity. The proposed system involved multi-domain dynamic models of a wide-range of cables (HPFF, HPGF, PILC and XLPE for 10^400 kV) and their surrounding environments. This work was performed in the frame of NATO grant no 960050 and Polish State Committee for Scientific Research Grant no N511 020 31/36873. The developed models and algorithms have been deployed at Ontario Hydro, Kinectrics Inc. and Consolidated Edison Company in New York City. The discussed matters involve: The new model of heat transfer in pipe-type cable systems with slow circulation of dielectric fluid. The algorithm estimating the energy balance and the cable system state in tunnel and duct installations. The algorithm estimating the cable and environment state in the pipe-type installations. Discrete seasonal model of cable system loading and the ambient temperature of soil for the testing of developed systems. The review of state-of-the-art in theory of the high voltage power cable multi-domain modelling with special consideration of the power system environment (e.g. soil, pipe, tunnel and ducts). The review of the most important cable operational usage standards and the allowable cable system parameters. The heat and moisture diffusion transfer in porous medium and the conditions for appearance of thermal instability. The author also presents the application of the numerical methods and computational geometry algorithms in diagnosing of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. BSE, Alzheimer, CJD, vCJD) and basic research on florid plaque reconstruction. This work has been performed in the frame of the Polish State Committee for Scientific Research Grants no 8 THE 022 16 and 3 THE 032 26. The following novel algorithms and methods have been presented: The 3-D biological structure reconstruction algorithm based on the series of plaque images obtained using a Transmission Electron-Microscope (TME). The biological image registration and congruencing algorithms. The landmark-point association recognition algorithm. The algorithm for automatic selection of landmark-points including the novel filter kernel and algorithm for elimination of redundant points. The algorithm for normalisation of electronogram images. The application of Gaussian Hidden Markov Random Field (GHMRF) to the three-dimensional model of florid plaque proliferation. The dissertation also contains the analysis of the main drawbacks in people identification and recognition using biometrical methods based on the iris image. The author presents the new method of iris image recognition - IRISConstelation - which allows to generate unique signatures and authenticated encryption keys. This research has been carried out in the frame of the Polish State Committee for Scientific Research Grant no 3 TUB 008 27.
