EN This paper presents the description of the computational model for analysis of jointly connected thin slabs resting on elastic subsoil. The finite number of the rectangular thin plates jointly connected each other in two perpendicular directions creates the slab structure. Geometrical and elastic characteristics as well as acting load can be arbitrary for each plate element of structure. In detail we look through an influence of unequal change of temperature on the deflection and bending moments of jointly connected slabs resting on the elastic half-space. In calculation model we assume that the hinge joints are situated in the neutral plane and they are able to transmit only transverse connecting forces and corresponding moments. The solution is based on the application of approximate numerical methods. We chose two ways - the classical Zemockin's method (the conditions of contact are fulfilled in chosen number of points) and modified Zemockin's method (the reciprocity of structure-soil displacements is minimized by a functional of potential energy of deformation). Continuous contact between the slab structure and subsoil surface is replaced by a system of single bonds in the discrete points. It means that instead of continuously distributed reactions the concentrated forces act on structure from the side of the subsoil. The problem leads to the solution of statically indeterminate structure in two level iteration process. The system for determination of unknowns consists of the deformation conditions which express the same displacements in the corresponding discrete points of slab structure and subsoil surface and conditions which express the equilibrium of contact forces and acting loads. These mixed conditions can be written in matrix form. The displacements due to a level of solution and final internal forces of the slab structure we determine by using the finite element method. The stiffhess matrices and the load parameter vectors of the finite elements in the place of hinge joints we modify according to numbers of unknown nodal parameters. More details are described in. By comparative example we verify the derived procedure. Obtained results by two mentioned methods are identical with published sample in the Diagrams of deflections and bending moments present figures 5,6. The second example relates to the solution of the slab structure composed by nine rectangular plates loaded by uniformly distributed action and temperature effect. Diagrams of deflections and bending moments along the border and axis of symmetry are charted on fig. 7 and 8. The mixed force - displacement method appears to be well suited for the solution structure - soil interaction. Derived procedure can be used in the design of various interaction problems such as plate foundations, airport areas, road communications, etc. Any model of elastic subsoil for which is possible to calculate surface displacements can be involved into the calculation model of structure - soil interaction.
