Modeling and numerical investigations of contact phenomena occurring on the contact surface of flat shields of a friction clutch are discussed in this work. Contact problems taking into account wear processes in many friction connections have already been studied earlier, however, simplified mathematical models have been used and applied. Unlike many previous works, we take into account elasticity and wear properties of the material of shields being in friction contact. Moreover, a hereditary integral wear model with an exponential memory function is considered. Equations modeling contact pressure on the contact surface of shields are derived and they yield contact pressure and wear of the shields. Numerical analysis is carried out with the qualitative and quantitative theories of integral equations. Many interesting results are obtained, illustrated and discussed.
