The paper deals with the problem of V/f control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor without winding dumper for fan applications. Based on stability analysis, an additional stabilizing loop is introduced. Voltage optimization was carried out in order to minimize the input power of PMSM. Simulation results confirmed the validity of the applied solution for fan applications.
